Let’s knit a sweater together! Caitlin Hunter’s Midsommar Tee is an excellent project for knitters of all levels and will be perfect for warmer weather. Knit from the bottom up, we will practice some fundamental sweater making skills, including: reading a pattern, how yarn selection and gauge swatches help create your perfect fabric, knitting in the round, demystifying short rows, placing stitches on hold, pick up and knit stitches, darning in ends, blocking and anything else that comes up along the way.
Whether this is your first or fiftieth sweater, as long as you can knit and purl, this class is for you. Our weekly meetings and homework assignments will keep you on track. The pattern is included in the price of the class and will be sent to you no later than one week prior to the first class. Please purchase your yarn from Heritage and have it wound before the first class begins.
We will meet on Saturdays for 1.5 hours to learn and knit together. For extra support you are encouraged to take advantage of our social knitting on Tuesday (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm) and Friday (6:00 pm to 9:00 pm) evenings. Knitting help will also be offered at no cost to participants for the duration of the class on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
