Anastasia Beanie or Slouch pattern

"When I looked at my collection of Fair Isle hat designs and compared it to the color wheel, I realized that I had no red hats. The challenge of working with red is that light shades of red turn pink and I didn't want pink. The subtle shading of the background avoids pink and results in a rich, wine colored cap. The design uses traditional Shetland motifs, but the use of the colors combined with the design make me think of a Russian princess. Hence, Anastasia." ~Joan

Sizes:
Adult average. Two versions:
Beanie ~ 20.5" diameter above the ribbing and 7.5" tall;
Roomier Slouch ~ 24" diameter above the ribbing and 9.5" tall.
Adjust size by changing the needle size.

Yarn:
Fingering weight, sample made with Jamieson's Spindrift (25 g, 115 yds/105 m).

(A) 293 Port Wine - 40 yds (37 m); [50 yds (46 m)];
(B) 595 Maroon - 50 yds (46 m); [60 yds (55 m)];
(C) 323 Cardinal - 10 yds (9 m); [35 yds (32 m)];
(D) 423 Burnt Ochre - 40 yds (37 m); [45 yds (41 m)];
(E) 1160 Scotch Broom - 30 yds (27 m); [55 yds (50 m)];
(F) 179 Buttermilk - 10 yds (9 m); [15 yds (14 m)];
(G) 1140 Granny Smith - 5 yds (4 m); [20 yds (18 m)].

Needles and Notions:
US 1/2.5 mm and US 3/3.25 mm for circular knitting or size(s) to achieve gauge.
Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
