Bird Bands 2 Band Weaving Kits

“I have been teaching inkle weaving for a number of years. After every class I hear ‘what’s next?’ The first ‘what’s next’ is to get some experience weaving. In the instructions, I’ve included tips that I find helpful for weaving. Each kit represents one of the patterns in our third collection of inkle bands, Bird Bands 2. A pattern booklet containing patterns for the entire collection will be available once the collection reaches 10 birds. I hope you enjoy weaving your inkle band.” ~ Joan

All kits contain full instructions for weaving a band. Please note that these kits assume you are already familiar with the technique.

Skills:
Reading drafts, color key, and band diagrams.

Size:
1” wide, up to 5 yards long.

Included:
Pattern, Maurice Brassard 8/4 unmercerized cotton.

Chickadee: six colors, 88 g/285 yards.
Winter Robin: six colors, 88 g/285 yards.
Great Horned Owl: seven colors, 88 g/285 yards.
Flamingo: five colors, 88 g/285 yards.
Loon: two colors, 88 g/285 yards.
Northern Flicker: five colors, 88 g/285 yards.
Cedar Waxwing: eight colors, 88 g/285 yards
Hummingbird: nine colors, 88 g/285 yards
Virginia Rail: seven colors, 88 g/285 yards
Woodpecker: nine colors, 88 g/285 yards

You will need:
Inkle loom, 23 string heddles, a belt shuttle, scissors, ruler, and other things you normally use when band weaving.

Hand wash in cold water. Lay flat to dry.
